How to Begin the Home Buying Process in Wilmington

Today we're going to speak about how you begin the process of purchasing a home. Here is a rough outline of what the process looks like:
  • Buyer Consultation: We will discuss what you're looking for in a home, such as location, price, the type of home, and any other things that you require in a property.
  • Get in Touch with a Lender: We work closely with a number of lenders in the area, and they will help you pick a loan program that is suited to your needs.
  • Look at Properties: After you've figured out what you want and narrowed your home search, then it's time to begin looking for your dream home.
  • Make an Offer: We will sit down and type up your offer, and go through the due diligence process where you apply for the loan. Then, an appraisal and home inspection is done on the home, and we survey and schedule the closing on the home if everything goes according to plan. We also need an underwriter to approve the loan and negotiate repairs with the seller. 

After all of these steps are completed, we schedule a time to sit down in the attorney's office where we sign all of the necessary paperwork. After this we have to go to the courthouse to record the deed, and after that is completed you can walk into your brand new home.
